We are a church family of regular people who want to honor our Savior Jesus Christ and encourage each other to grow in our walk with Him. Sunday mornings begin at 9:45am with Sunday School classes for all ages. Our morning worship service begins at 11:00am, and our evening gathering begins at 6:00pm.
God’s Word is at the center of our worship time. Corporate singing is an essential part of our worship to God, and singing biblical truths together as a church family is the foundation of our approach to music. We sing a combination of old and new songs and strive to ensure that each one is accurate, accessible, and appropriate. Each service includes a time of prayer and giving. Our pastors build their sermons on God’s Word and seek to offer practical application of biblical truth.
On Sunday mornings, Primary Church is offered during the sermon. Children from Kindergarten through 3rd grade are dismissed at the end of our congregational singing if their parents want them to be part of Primary Church. During the first Sunday morning service of each month, we participate in the Lord’s Supper.
Our Sunday evening gatherings are less formal than our morning service and more varied in purpose. The overarching focus is on our life together as the body of Christ. We usually spend part of the time in small-group prayer and hearing ministry updates.
We have parking designated for our guests at the front of our building, and additional parking is available behind the building. Handicapped parking and accessible entrances are clearly marked at the front as well.
As you enter the building, clearly marked signs will help you know where to go. Our welcome center is located at the entrance to the auditorium.
Childcare and Children’s Ministries
Clean, well-staffed nurseries for infants and toddlers are provided during all Sunday services and during Wednesday evening prayer meeting. Sunday School classes are held for each grade at 9:45am, and children from Kindergarten through third grade may attend Primary Church during the Sunday morning sermon.
On Wednesday evenings during the school year, children up through 6th grade take part in an exciting, Scripture-based program called Awana.
For the safety of our children, all childcare workers undergo an approval process that includes screening, training, and a background check.
Visit our children’s page for more information.
Teen Sunday School classes are held at 9:45am. Teen ministries continue on Wednesday nights and throughout the year.
Visit our youth page for much more information.
What to wear
We are more concerned about you and your presence with us than we are with what you wear. If you prefer dressy, business, or casual attire, there will be others dressed much like you. Business casual is common on Sunday mornings. You will also find suits and ties, dresses and high heels, T-shirts, jeans, and flip-flops.
Plan a visit
We hope you’ll visit soon and see for yourself why we have been part of the Lapeer community for over 150 years. We are a body of imperfect believers who are committed to glorifying God as seek to make disciples through worship, evangelism, teaching, and fellowship.
Please contact us if you have any questions or desire to know more about our church family and gatherings.
Special classes for newcomers are offered periodically. These classes are designed to give a foundation in the Scriptural teaching regarding the local church, an overview of our church’s beliefs and philosophy of ministry, and an explanation of our vision for the future. Taking this class does not obligate anyone for membership, but it is a requirement for those who desire to join our church. The class is designed for those who are new to the church or are considering membership, but it is open to any who wish to attend. If you are interested, please contact us.
