In 2019, a member approached us with a potential donation toward a picnic pavilion on our church property. For several reasons, it was delayed and not pursued at that time. In between then and now, we have repaved our parking lot and have been able to turn the back 1/3 to grass—something that was not being considered in 2019. We see God’s timing, even in this little detail, as the planned pavilion can now go on the west end of that grass!
We believe this 30′ x 50′ picnic pavilion will be used. It isn’t a need, but it is a tool that our ministries and our people will use (see picture below of similar pavilion being finished). Whether for outdoor picnics or children’s ministries, AWANA or VBS, youth group or members getting together for lunch or playdates, it would be a place that encourages gathering for meals, conversation, and ministry. We also believe it would be a multiplier for the usefulness of the new grass, providing seating next to the field.
To secure this ministry asset, we are determined to incur no debt and to fund it—not out of reserves or out of general fund—but out of a special fund through designated giving. That is, we are asking those who are able to give above and beyond to the pavilion project.
Our goal is to raise $46,000 by July 11th so we can plan construction for this fall. Would you prayerfully consider what you or your household might be able to give?
You can give by designating “pavilion” on your check/envelope or by choosing “Pavilion Project” at the link above.
