Started approximately 20 years ago as a ministry to the deaf, First Baptist Church has given the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who may never have heard it otherwise. We continue to train both the hearing and deaf through our ASL ministry.
Our ASL Sunday School class gathers from 9:45-10:45am for fellowship and instruction before joining the rest of our church family at 11:00am. The Sunday morning worship service is interpreted so that all can participate in corporate worship and receive the exposition of God’s Word.
All are welcome to join us each Tuesday from 10:00am-12:30pm for fellowship, instruction, ASL practice, and community. We meet at the church building and often enjoy getting to know others from our church family as well as eating lunch together.
Our ASL instructors are ready to assist with other church gatherings and ministry. If there is a need for sign language interpretation, we are happy to assist.
Special Needs Ministry
The special needs ministry of First Baptist Church, called the Shepherd’s Class, meets during Sunday School and is led by trained instructors. These teachers have years of experience working with individuals with special needs, and their love for the Shepherd’s Class is evident. The class includes fellowship, biblical instruction, and fun activities.
Transportation is provided for those who need it. Please contact the church office to make arrangements.
